As one of the leading manufacturers and designers of plate freezers for CO2 applications, DSI is adding its vertical plate freezers to the R744.com product database. Optimised for tough environments the freezers are operating always reliably with a maximised operating performance.

With the objective of developing environmentally friendly freezers, DSI began research and development in the field of CO2 more than eight years ago. DSI’s vertical plate freezers are suited for onboard as well as onshore freezing and provide a high freezing rate. Having sold more than 400 CO2 freezers, DSI experienced that the use of R744 leads to reduced freezing times by 25-50%. The fast freezing not only maintains the freshness and the natural quality of the products but reduces also the consumption of energy and lowers the initial costs compared to the use of HCFCs and HFCs in the systems.

The DSI vertical plate freezer is mainly chosen for bulk freezing products to achieve quick freezing and to obtain blocks for palletising. The special technology of block freezing in DSI plate freezers ensures a better overall economy, as well as the best possible product quality. Another feature of the company’s vertical plate freezer is the extra strong hot-dip galvanised frame. It is manufactured in closed profiles to ensure maximum strength and easy cleaning.

Basic specifications DSI vertical plate freezer:
  • Number of plates: 10-42 pcs. depending on the type and the size of blocks
  • Forks covered with PEHD or aluminium
  • Extruded aluminium plates with high strength, including notch for block divider
  • Flexible PTFE hoses with stainless steel armouring, individually pressure-tested
  • Manually or electrically operated
  • Extra strong hot-dip galvanised frame manufactured in closed profiles
  • Low maintenance cost
